Catherine Marchant began working with fiber at age 9, when she learned to knit. She began spinning in 1984 and earned a Certificate of Spinning from Ontario Handspinners and Weavers in 2000.

Her teaching experience includes Jointure for Community Adult Education, Bernardsville, NJ; Urban Knitter, NYC; Peters Valley Craftsmen at Work Program; and private spinning and knitting lessons. In addition, Catherine has given workshops and programs at the Westfield Weavers Guild; North Country Spinners Guild, Flemington Stitchers; Jockey Hollow Weavers Guild; Frances Irwin Weavers Guild; and the Midwest Fiber Conference, St. Louis, MO.
